How well particles can adhere to surfaces depends on a variety of parameters. The aim of this study is to show the influence of mechanical grinding processes on the surface produced. By specifically adapting the process parameters, it can be shown that a significant reduction in the adhesion of particles to the component surface can be achieved, even though the surface roughness is comparable. The application of a less abrasive grinding process chosen here and the results obtained allow the discussion that a reduced negative influence on the metallic structure in the base material also has an influence on the cleanability and adhesion behavior of particles.
